The mark
Every line of it is us.
- The name
- Kovella comes from the three of us. So do the three little dots beside the bird, one each for Kyle, Izzy, and Oliver.
- The robin
- Renewal, growth, and family: a fitting bird for a shop that got a second name without losing its first heart.
- The branch
- It perches on an olive branch. After the year we had, that felt right.
- The lettering
- Drawn by hand, because everything here is: the espresso, the flowers, the cart Kyle built.
The short history.

Kyle makes Izzy a craft latte every morning on a countertop Breville. “A labor of love.” First posted latte art is “just a big blob.”

One-year anniversary, then the forced rename → Kovella.
An ode to this city.
We’re an ode to this city: the film it invented, the flowers it grows, the people who show up for each other. There’s so much good here, and we’ve always experienced it hand in hand with coffee.
